On behalf of the 12th conference of Tinnitus Research Initiatives in conjunction with 3rd Cross-Strait Tinnitus Seminar (2019 TRI), we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your presence and contribution for 2019 TRI which was held from May 17 to 19, 2019 in Taiwan. The conference was the first TRI in Asia, and maintained its tradition as a platform of cutting-edge for scholars with different backgrounds who are interested in tinnitology. The major theme of this year is “A Renaissance: Novel Concepts in Tinnitus”, which covered a wide range of interesting and challenging aspects of tinnitus. We believe that the event was as exciting as previous ones for every attendee.

Tinnitus has troubled our patients and doctors since we started our otological practice 30 years ago. At that time, very little attention was paid to this complaint and related treatment. Dr. Lai began his long journal of quest for a solution since 30 years ago. We have been followers of masters in the field, attended numerous workshops, meetings, and almost every TRI and ITS. We employed every novel treatment for our patients. In 2012, we recruited some otologists and audiologists who are interested in tinnitus to establish the Taiwan Tinnitus Association, and now is the time that we contribute to the global society of tinnitus research. Your active participation has certainly made the congress fruitful and enjoyable.

Taipei is a vibrant city to visit. It has the prosperity of a metropolis and yet maintains the friendly, convenient and safe atmosphere of a smaller town. Many hot tourist spots such as Taipei 101 and National Palace Museum are located nearby. Most importantly, your active participation has certainly made the city and conference fruitful and enjoyable.

The photos taken during the congress are now available in the official website. We hereby attach the link for our fond memorable moments during 2019 TRI: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rnw35NJC2eQVsAAe7.
